IEP/504 Consulting Services

As a ministry, we aim to support families and individuals with special needs as best as we can.

One challenging aspect of special needs is understanding Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans (accommodation plans). IEPs and 504 Plans are legal documents that your child's public school must uphold. IEPs follow national guidelines about specific and detailed learning instruction that is individualized to each individual child. An IEP also requires the child to receive IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), which outlines a free, appropriate education catered to your child. Additionally, they are guaranteed their least restrictive environment (LRE), meaning that by law, your child has the right to be placed in an environment with the best opportunity to interact with typical peers and participate in a grade-appropriate curriculum.

IEPs and 504s get even more complex, but we have your back. We have experience advocating in IEP and 504s in multiple Ohio districts with countless families over the ministry's past 11 years of operation. We have sat on both sides of the table as teachers/intervention specialists and advocates. We want to vocalize our IEP/504 services. While we have fulfilled this need for many years, we want it to be easily accessible and available to parents and guardians outside of our ministry in Ashland. (For IEPs/504s, we can service Ashland and surrounding areas such as Haysville, Loudonville, Mapleton, Mansfield, Lexington, Ontario, and Wooster.) If you are unsure if we support your location, please contact us and we will talk with you.

As a service, an IEP/504 consult will look as follows:

-We will meet with you one-on-one at a neutral location to learn about your child, their behaviors, preferences, strengths, challenges, and educational history. At this meeting, we will discuss your child's IEP/504 draft, your concerns, and anything relating to their education, well-being, school, and behavior that you would like to talk about. (This can happen over the phone if need be).

-We will (if requested) attend your child's meeting alongside you. We will make sure that all of our concerns are addressed, laws are met, and that their IEP/504 represents your child and his/her abilities and areas of growth with reasonable and clear goals.

For our consulting services, we have an hourly rate of $45.00.

This will apply to 1) our one-on-one meeting, 2) our attendance at your child's meeting, and 3) travel time.

***We are also available to aid with any BIPs (Behavioral Intervention Plans)
