Christina Teevan has been the Executive Director of Ashland Special Needs since November, 2014. She knew from a young age that she wanted to do something with children with special needs so she pursued that in high school through a buddy program for those with severe disabilities in a gym class. From there, she attended Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana where she studied Elementary Education with a minor in students with Learning Disabilities. She began teaching K-6 Resource, where she worked with students with emotional/mild to moderate disabilities, children with specific learning disabilities, as well as children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). She completed her Master’s Program/Degree in Students who are Severely Emotionally Disturbed, as well as Students who are Mildly Mentally Handicapped. Christina has also served as an adjunct Professor of Special Education for Grace College since 2006.
Another area near and dear to her heart is the “young man” that she is pictured with above. Christina and her husband have been guardians for Richard Burke for over 19 years. He is a precious part of their family, loved by their daughters and extended family, and he has taught them a great deal about God’s plan for each of us. Richard passed away this past January (2018), and he is dearly missed.
